Fuerte Cocinas UK SL have an in-house landscaping specialist, Debbie McNeill who is based in Triquivijate. She initially came to the island to grow bedding plants and herbs and is currently in the position of developing stock plants and a small growing nursery. She also runs her own small business in landscape architecture and maintenance around the Fuerteventura and this has grown into a very successful business in its own right through nothing more than word of mouth recommendations and through her work on radio QFM.

Debbie studied Horticulture at the Merrist Wood College in the UK, where she was top of her class and her multitude of qualification's speak volumes about her ability in this interesting subject. Debbie went on to work at Notcutts Nurseries in Suffolk which is probably the biggest and most respected nursery in the UK. After seven years in management with Notcutts Nurseries she moved to Pennells Nurseries; another well respected family business growing climbers and specialising in Clematis.

During her travels around SE Asia and Australia, Debbie visited many botanic gardens and worked on a vineyard for a few months. On her return she worked for her father's garden centre in Dartmouth, South Devon where they grew many of their own plants and developed an extensive range of tropical and sub tropical plants which has provided her with invaluable knowledge in how to look after and maintain garden plants here in Fuerteventura. 'I am very lucky to work with the plants which I love and to be able help people make the most of their gardens, whether they are here full time or have holiday homes, or complex gardens', says Debbie.
